As a CTMH provider, I provide psychological counseling and support over the internet through a secure platform called Go To Meeting. The interaction will occur as if you interacting with me in-person. This process can involve hands-on activities and interactive games as well as homework to reinforce achieving counseling goals. I use HIPAA-Compliant Encrypted Email to communicate electronically and payments are accepted online through a HIPPA-Compliant payment processing company to protect client's information. 

Anxiety can be a result of worry and self-doubt. It can create nervousness and overwhelming feelings of dread that reoccur. As a counselor, I take a therapeutic approach that is collaborative and holistic, integrating mind, body, and spirit. I believe that counseling should provide a safe and productive place to share information and I will work to make each counseling experience empowering. I do use mindfulness practices as well as meditation and expressive arts theory in counseling sessions. 

Mindfulness-based interventions are therapeutic approaches that increase our ability to regulate emotions, decrease stress, anxiety, and depression. These interventions may be understood as the state in which one becomes more aware of one's physical, mental, and emotional condition in the present moment, without becoming judgmental. Strategies used in mindfulness-based interventions help individuals understand and manage their thoughts and emotions in order to achieve relief from feelings of distress.
